Programs and Opportunities for Undergraduate Students
|
Undergraduate Students Programs |
| Undergraduate Student Research Program (USRP) |
| Provides undergraduate students with hands-on challenging research experiences that stimulate continued interest in such disciplines/fields as engineering, science, mathematics, and information technology, skill areas that are critical to NASA’s research and development mission. |

| American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) Summer Research Experience (SRE) |
| The AIHEC SRE is a summer research program that provides students enrolled in a tribal college or university with opportunities to participate in on-going Kennedy Space Center (KSC) research projects, or tailored projects relevant to their reservation, and gain hands-on experience in their field of study. The SRE is a student learning work experience in which the participant team is paired with a mentor from KSC's science or engineering laboratories through a match between the lab's requirements and the student's background, academic level and interest. |

| Kennedy Space Center Intern Program |
| The Kennedy Space Center's (KSC) Intern Program is intended to attract students who are pursuing a degree which KSC normally recruits to work during the summer months as well as other academic terms. The objective is to provide students valuable work experience related to their academic studies and knowledge of KSC's mission. The Program also provides KSC an opportunity to evaluate the student's suitability for participation in the Co-op Program or full-time employment upon graduation. |

|
| Florida Space Grant Program |
| The Florida Space Grant Consortium sees ourselves developing stronger contacts with government, industry, and educational partners, and using these contacts and partnerships to further meet the needs of Florida's educational system. In addition, FSGC will work closely with Kennedy Space Center (KSC), as KSC moves its focus to becoming a Spaceport Technology Center. This close interaction will afford greater opportunities for our award recipients to perform research and investigations on projects that will be utilized by real-world space-related projects and missions. |

|
| Exploration Systems Mission Directorate Student Project |
| NASA's Exploration Systems Mission Directorate partnered with the National Space Grant Consortia to initiate a new higher education student program for which KSC was selected to provide the overall Agency program management. The program consists of three student opportunities: exploration-related internships at NASA Centers or with space-related industry, engineering challenge teams, and senior design projects. All opportunities are related to ESMD's critical research areas (Spacecraft, Propulsion, Lunar and Planetary Surface Systems, or Ground Operations) for the future of space exploration. |

| Motivating Undergraduate Students in Technology (MUST) |
| This scholarship program is designed to attract and retain students in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The program is NASA wide and is administered by a consortium led by the Hispanic College Fund (HCF) with the support of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and the United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation (UNCFSP).

|
| Space Florida Intern Program |
| The Space Florida Intern Program is intended to attract students who are pursuing a degree in the STEM field. The internship is eight weeks, and can be during the summer, or other academic terms. The objective is to provide students valuable work experience related to their academic studies and knowledge of NASA/KSC's missions. |

| National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program |
| The National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program (also known as Space Grant) was initiated by NASA in 1989. Space Grant is a national network of colleges and universities working to expand opportunities for Americans to understand and participate in NASA's aeronautics and space programs by supporting and enhancing science, and engineering education, research, and public outreach programs. |
