ESMD Space Grant Systems Engineering Paper Competition

Description

This is an invitation to all teams that were funded for a senior design project through the ESMD Space Grant program and teams that entered *approved national competitions to submit a Systems Engineering paper. The papers will be evaluated by a team of NASA engineers. This is your chance to show off your project and your systems engineering skills, and a great bonus for your resume to prospective employers. The prizes to be awarded are as follows:

First Prize: $3500 cash scholarship PLUS tickets for VIP seating at an upcoming launch for the team
Second Prize: $2500 cash scholarship PLUS tickets for VIP seating at an upcoming launch for the team
Third Prize: $1500 cash scholarship PLUS tickets for VIP seating at an upcoming launch for the team

Winning teams will participate in a video telecon with NASA management and NASA technical evaluators. Prizes will be awarded in April, 2008.

Eligibility

Only teams that were funded through the ESMD Space Grant program for their senior design project and teams that entered *approved national competitions are eligible to submit a paper.
The paper must follow the template provided.

How To Apply

Student teams will need a membership at the following site: https://secureworkgroups.grc.nasa.gov/.
TO APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP: All team members must send an email request for membership to the POC below; the email subject must state "SE paper competition", with a very brief description in the body (1-2 sentences). You will then be sent an email invitation to join the site, which must be approved for membership.

As a student member at the site above, you will be able to submit your Systems Engineering paper online. All required forms and information are available at that site. However, some are provided on this site so that you may review them ahead of time.

Deadlines

Teams must sign up by Feb 18, 2008.
Papers must be submitted by March 3, 2008.
